Red Kitchen Appliances and Accessories Sizzle
Though you can find almost any color to decorate your kitchen with, it seems red kitchen appliances and accessories have really become more popular in the past few years. In the kitchen, red works best as an accent color.
Having red appliances, such as this KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer, and even red curtains can be very pleasing, but adding all red walls is likely to cause adverse physical or psychological effects, such as a rise in blood pressure, or aggitation.
Red kitchens look great with accents of taupe, beige, white, and black, though black walls could be depressing. Even cotton candy pink walls would work with the right color of red, but one of the best combinations is taupe walls, red patterned or floral curtains, and red appliances.
There are several different shades of red appliances and accessories available. It is easiest to stay in the same color shades or tones by purchasing appliances and accessories made by the same manufacturer, but on occasion, you can find a suitable match.
Red is a color that has definite differences in meaning, depending on where in the world you are.
The Meaning of Red

Connotations of the Color Red
Again, depending on which part of the world you live, red has different meanings. For most, red is the color of love and passion, or anger and hatred. It has been suggested that the reason red can stand for either extreme is that during times of strong emotion, love or hate, the face is often redder than normal.
Red is the most vibrant on the color wheel. It can be mixed with either blue or yellow, giving more purple or burgandy reds or more orange or pumpkin reds.
The red colors with more blue seem to be those most closely associated with love and passion, while those with more orange seem to be more often associated with anger and violence. The blue tones down the fierceness of the passion.
In different parts of the world, red can be the color of purity, joy, celebration and happiness, or it may be the color of mourning.
