We made pies with this recipe all the time when I was growing up! It is delicious and so easy! It uses 7-Up and is a great butter pie crust.

Mom's 7-Up Pie Crust Recipe

Ingredients:
  • 5 cups pastry flour, sifted
  • 1 lb. or four sticks butter, cold
  • 1 12 oz. can 7-Up soda, very cold
 Instructions:

  1. Measure the flour into a large bowl,
  2. Slice the butter sticks into one inch pieces and add to the flour.
  3. Using a pastry blender, cut the cold butter into the flour until it is the consistency of small peas or rice kernels.
  4. Add the full can of 7-Up and stir to mix well.
  5. Refrigerate the dough for at least an hour.
  6. Divide dough in fourths and roll each fourth into a circle.
  7. Fold the circle into fourths and put the corner point in the center of your pie plate, then unfold the dough.
  8. Press the dough into the pie plate, shaping the edges around the rim.
  9. Prick the bottom and sides with a fork to prevent shrinkage when baking.
  10. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown (10 - 20 minutes).
If you want to cook your filling inside the pie crust, add the filling and adjust the cooking time. Makes four single crusts or two double crusts.
