TMNT Gift Ideas

When my son, Scott, was little, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were one of his favorite TV shows. I would tape the episodes on the VCR so that he could watch them over and over again.

He loved them so much, he decided he wanted to draw them. He spent his allowance on a TMNT comic book, and spent hours and hours meticulously drawing the figures over and over. While I did purchase a few drawing books for him, I credit the TMNT series with the flame that sparked his interest in art.

Today, the art he taught himself comes in very handy with his website design and graphics art work. Still self-taught, he has had his art used in websites, on business cards, as company logos, and now works as much with the computer doing computer graphics as he does with pen and ink.

Whatever your children enjoy, it can be a springboard into the future for them.

If you enjoyed the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as much as my son did, you might want to share that pleasure with your own children. The show came back to television in the fall of 2012, and was a huge hit! The latest movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 5, was also a hit.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shellraiser

Scott would have loved the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shellraiser!

With a battle hatch on top that features a spring-loaded bazooka launcher, fold-down babble ramps, and sewer pipe battle grips, this vehicle is fun on the half shell for sure!

Turtle figures are not included.

Introducing the TMNT Gang!

Leonardo is the courageous leader of the mutant turtles. He wears a blue mask and uses two long, razor-sharp swords.

Donatello wears a purple mask and uses a bo staff. He prefers to use knowledge to solve conflicts, but is not afraid to fight when he needs to.

Raphael wears a dark red mask. His weapons of choice are a pair of sai. Strong and aggressive, he often throws the first punch.

Wearing an orange mask and providing most of the comic relief, Michelangelo is the least mature and most fun-loving turtle. He loves jokes and pranks. Michelangelo's favorite weapons are a pair of nunchakus.

Splinter is the teenage mutant turtles' sensei and adoptive father. He is a Japanese mutant rat who learned ninjutsu from his owner, Hamato Yoshi, though throughout the TMNT story, this was sometimes changed to being Hamato Yoshi mutated or reincarnated into a mutated rat.

In the most recent movie, Splinter was a rat in the same laboratory where the turtles were exposed to the mutagen that changed them all into walking, talking, fighting creatures. Splinter learned his martial arts skills from a book he found in the sewer, then taught the turtles. Where ever Splinter came from, he is definitely loved by his turtles.
