New Children's Book: God Made Flowers in Many Pretty Colors

God Made the Flowers in Many Pretty Colors

New Children's Book Authored by Linda Pogue

This kid's book teaches that God is, that God made the flowers, identification of colors, and thankfulness for the things God created.

The 28 words used in the book are suitable for K-2 beginning readers. A list of the words in the back of the book make it easy for parents or teachers to help students learn how to identify, read, and spell each word. It would make a good homeschool book for reading and spelling class.

The book was written with Bible class teachers in mind. Even nursery and pre-school Bible teachers need material to read to their classes. With vivid full-color photographs, the book will engage young students, helping them to identify colors and learn more about God's creation.

The Kindle version of God Made the Flowers in Many Pretty Colors is in landscape format, making it work well for the rectangular screen. To make the Kindle version more easily readable, each photograph has a textbox inset with the text for the page. The book is also enrolled in Kindle Unlimited, so that members of Kindle Unlimited can download and read the book free.

The paperback version is 8.5 by 8.5 inches. The text is on the left page, with the photograph on the facing right page. Currently, the paperback is only available in the CreateSpace Store and Amazon.com.

Would this book work with your Bible class curriculum?

The Very Hungry Caterpillar: A Kids Book

The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle is a special book that should be in every child’s library. The colorful images depict a whimsical story of the caterpillar who eventually becomes a beautiful butterfly.

This story can be used to symbolize so many different events. I have heard of who read this story to their children and related it to changing from a preschooler to a kindergartener.

It works just as well as a book to teach children counting, days of the week, numbers, colors, and fruit names. There are sound science concepts in the book, and perhaps the most enchanting part is it tells children how a butterfly develops from a caterpillar. It gives them a new and different perspective to the small wriggly worms they often see in the yard and in trees.

Originally published in 1969, the book has sold over 30 million copies worldwide. It has been translated into more than 20 languages, including Spanish Dutch, French, German, Swedish, Russian, Chinese, and Italian.

These days, you can even buy bilingual versions! With 1,930 reviews on Amazon, this book has 4.5 stars. It just shows the popularity of the book.

Numerous awards and accolades have been presented to Eric Carle for the book.

Eric Carle Reads The Very Hungry Caterpillar

The book is popular in elementary school classrooms. Personally, I have used this book in Bible classes for babies and toddlers to symbolize life and becoming a Christian and even for lessons about death and the afterlife.

My grandchildren have all enjoyed hearing this story. It is a book that they asked me to read to them over and over again.

I have used this book in my
classroom for many years.

Unfortunately, the original hardback of The Very Hungry Caterpillar is no longer published, but the board book and many formats of used books are available.
