Purple Kitchen Stuff!

Do you have any purple kitchen appliances and accessories? 

There are so many shades and hues of purple that sometimes it is hard to find just what you are looking for. For instance, the color of this KitchenAid stand mixer is plumberry. The lighting makes it darker than it actually is.

Too much purple has been shown to cause moodiness in some people, so it is a color best used for accent in a room, such as using purple kitchen appliances and accessories to embellish white kitchens, rather than having a solid purple room. You might even consider just using a small splash of purple in the kitchen, such as a purple kitchen gadget.

If you want a  purple kitchen, colors you might search for are purple, metallic purple, elderberry, mauve, eggplant, dark lavender, plum, boysenberry, or plumberry.

As with many other kitchen colors, you have to be careful if you want everything to match perfectly, since different manufacturers will use different shades of purple and call them by an assortment of color names.

Purple paint might be a bit too much. However, a few purple kitchen appliances should be a joy for creative people. Purple kitchen curtains would be attractive, too.

At the very least, purple is one of the most unusual kitchen colors.

In Ancient Times, Purple was an Expensive Color

From ancient times, the traditional color of royalty has been the color purple. Created by mixing strong warm and strong cool colors, purple has properties of both warm and cool colors.

The reason only royalty wore purple is that the color purple was a very expensive dye to create. Only the very wealthy could afford purple clothes.

In fact, merchants who made and sold purple dye were well respected, and usually quite wealthy.

White kitchens with white kitchen appliances, or a kitchen with colorful walls and white appliances and accessories to accent, are very
attractive.

Some people would argue that white is a traditional color for a kitchen, but others would argue that yellow or beige were just as traditional.

White kitchens rock!

They feel so clean!

 

One thing cannot be denied, though. If you have white walls, white counters, white large appliances, and white small kitchen appliances, you have a very clean looking kitchen. It definitely shows if anything is not as clean as it should be.

A good thing about white kitchens, though, is that if you decide you want some color, the addition of colorful dishes, cookware, bake ware, or even cookie jars or canisters can liven it up.

And if you get tired of one color or theme, such as a sunflower or rooster theme, you can easily change to another.

The Meaning of the Color White

In many cultures, white is the color of purity.

Brides often wear white, because white symbolizes virginity; at the same time white is worn in some countries at funerals.

Some sources say white is the color of kindness, and white daisies are a representation of faithful love.

Because white light is whole, a complete combination of all colors and not a true color in itself, it sometimes denotes openness and truth.

However, as anyone who has been in a hospital might realize, white is also cold and stark, especially if it is not accented with vibrant colors such as yellow.

White can denote new beginnings and opportunities for explosive development.

It can help bring clarity to mental confusion, and helps to clear away cobwebs and clutter in the mind.
